Not for beginers
I bought this book and the "High Key" book he put out because my daughter's communion is coming up and I wanted some lighting techniques I could use at home and in the church.I have two off camera wireless flash units. Only 7 pages discuss ratios of lights and metering (Chapters 14 Ratios (4pages) & 15 metering & exposure(3 pages)), the rest of the book is about choosing backrounds,clothes, poses, props and composition of portraits. This book is really for pros that have their own studio. The last few pages show examples of the types of studio lights used to create the photos in the book. This is a great book on portraiture techniques but not really for someone trying to learn how to use multiple flashes for the first time. I'm starting the High Key book today.
