The Beautiful Black Sheep
0 of 1 found this helpful Zelda II often goes unmentioned in the context of Zelda games, overshadowed by its more predictable, familiar siblings. This game, however, requires more skill and patience than any of the others, and is the greatest challenge of all of them. It takes a sidescrolling approach (unheard of!) and the combat is simple but fiercely tactical, especially in later levels. Link's Adventure is more about survival than anything, as you'll find out. Awaken Zelda with the power of the six crystals, and see to it that you aren't destroyed, fueling Ganon's resurrection with your blood.
All the bad rap for this game comes from its difficulty factor. Yes, it is difficult, but it has more to offer than all the others, in my opinion. It's exactly what it says it is, an adventure. You just have to be up to the task. Well worth it.
