Excellent value
1 of 1 found this helpful I purchased 30 of these to prepare my trailer for a trip with friends. They are basic and simple but work perfectly and do exactly what they are designed for. You do need to tighten them slightly when not in use so that the end nut does not shake off.

Might be the best?
2 of 2 found this helpful I bought this for a friend who thinks it is the best cooler. Maybe he is right. The thing is a work of art as far as the quality of materials and manufacturing. I read complaints form others that it is difficult to get stuff in and out through the short opening on the top. I think their concerns are valid as the opening is indeed small and it takes a bit of a knack to hold it open while inserting or removing items.
For my own use, I purchased a competing brand, AO, that cost a quarter of the price and does not suffer from the small opening. I am sure that it will perform as well as the YETI but may not last as long and does not look quite as flashy

Good but needs some work
I purchased 8 Megaboom speakers expecting that the firmware update to enable up to 10 megabooms to be linked together. The update was supposed to be out in the summer of 2015 but as of December nothing has happened and the company has gone silent on the issue. Oh well. I love the speakers anyway.
The battery life is long and the charging is fast. The sound is excellent. I often use them outdoors and love that I can just throw them anywhere and don't need to worry about leaving them out in the rain. The Bluetooth pairing, linking and double-up feature can be very frustrating. Sometimes the speakers link and pair easily and quickly but just as often I find it to be difficult or impossible to use the double-up feature. I spent an hour on the phone with "technical support" at Ultimate Ears and got nowhere. The quotation marks on "technical support" are to indicate me rolling my eyes at the suggestion that the guy I wasted the hour with, cared or even knew anything about the product. In fact, it was a joke even going through the menu selection on the call to Ultimate Ears. The menu started out very professional and well laid out but by the time I made it to the megaboom department it had degenerated. It went from a smooth menu to a series of clumsy holds and hand-offs where I could imagine someone holding their hand over the phone saying, "Golly, someone wants to ask questions about something called megaboom. Who wants to take it?"
Anyway, customer service aside and accepting that the programming is unreliable at best and that they seem to have abandoned plans to link more than two speakers, I still love the product. Ultimate Ears just needs to fire the product manager and hire one that is committed to making the product all that it can and should be.
