Best RID-X Product So Far
Based upon the recommendation of a trusted septic tank serviceman, I have been using RID-X for at least 10 years to maintain my residential septic system. Compared to the powder, liquid or packet forms of the product, the drop-ins have a few advantages. They are much more compact and weigh considerably less than either the powder or liquid types (which reduces shipping costs if purchased online) and generally cost less per dose. You just hang one of them on the inside of the toilet bowl so there is no measuring required and thus no risk of spillage. You know when it is time for another dose since the "cake" eventually dissolves and there is no need to keep track of when the last dose was added, as is the case for other forms of RID-X. The manufacturer claims it "prevents toilet bowl rings" but I really cannot say how much it helps to keep things clean. The sole reason I did not give the product a 5-star rating is because right after a new drop-in is added, the scent given off is a bit too strong for my senses, but it diminishes after several flushes.
