Good idea but need more options.

The same Vic Firth 5A American Classics you've known and loved for years - now with mallet heads attached to what used to be the butt-end. The grip, feel and balance is slightly different because of this. It's not a big deal but it requires a little time to adjust. In my opinion this would be a 5 star. product if they would make an assortment of different head types to replace the stock version. As it is, I'm not sure the convenience factor fully outweighs the limitations of a single head choice.

Perfect if you don't require threads.

You will not need washers under these because the base is thick, however you can still use your old flat washers under them if you like. For the record, these are not threaded, they just slide on. Great product and solid value.
