My favorite dog ball.
I bought these Chuckit Max Glow Balls because my three LED, internally lit, balls all died after 2 or 3 battery change cycles. The Metorlight LED balls I had were fun for a short time, with their changing colors, but could not stand up to the hard landings associated with Chucket launchers. Also, my Planet Dog whistle balls had such a weak glow, they were useless for playing fetch in the dark, (although they are wonderful for daytime fetching.) These Chuckit Max Glow balls, have now become my favorite all around dog ball.
1. The Max Glow Balls glow very brightly when lit with any bright light, including my pocket 550 lumen flashlight. They remain bright for 5 or 6 long Chuckit launched fetches. I find I prefer to give the ball a 5 second burst of light from my flashlight before each Chucket launch, just to keep it very bright, and to provide the maximum glow time in case my dog gets distracted, and I have to go find the ball, myself. They have some weak, but noticeable phosphor glow, even after hours of being exposed to bright light.
2. The Max Glow Ball is light weight and bounces well. It is also deal for indoor play, because it can bounce off about anything, without breaking anything. Both my dogs love playing with this ball, indoors or out. It has a soft chewy texture, that will not hurt teeth. It seems to provide a chomp experience for my dogs that is satisfying, and the nice bounce gives them some chase excitement.
3. These Max Glow Balls, so far, seem indestructible. My friends, with toy killing Labs and I, all agree. . . any amount of dog play with these balls, seems to leave them as good as new. (An unsupervised dog who is intent on ripping at the ball's 5/8 inch holes, could probably destroy them, but, so far, my dogs show no inclination to rip away at the holes.)
4. These Max Glow Balls have two 5/8 inch holes, one on each side. This means the bounce does not rely on air pressure, but strictly on the ball material, itself. Also, because of the holes, the air flowing around the ball, when in flight, creates an audible sound that the dogs can detect and follow, while racing full speed toward the eventual landing spot of the ball. This sound is not as pronounced as a proper whistle, but does seem to be good enough for the dogs to follow, and the hole construction is so simple, it is much more rugged than the fragile whistles on my whistle balls.

Great quality, temp range, and price
1 of 1 found this helpful Temp range is perfect for high temp pizza. My hot pizza stone temp needs to be taken at a very shallow angle. Small jitters make the temp reading fluctuate, so the averaging feature is very useful. Min and Max and difference between Min and Max may be useful, also. The thermometer can easily compensate for various material Emissivity. A list of the emissivity of 38 common materials accompanies the documentation. The comfortable hand grip holds two easily replaceable AAA cells. (As a side note, my dog loves the built in laser pointer. She will chase the bright red dot tirelessly all over the park at night.) The bright readout takes only a half second is accompanied by a soft beep, when trigger is released, and is easily switchable between C and F temp scales. The back light optionally comes on (or not) when a measurement is being made. The red laser pointer light coming on with trigger is also optional. I bought this unit because it has the range I need for pizza, it's 1% accuracy, and it's amazing price. I am very happy with it, so far, and I highly recommend it.

Good value, Earth Friendly, adequate size
2 of 2 found this helpful Easy to rip from a bag from roll. Printing shows open end. Size is OK for my 60 lb dogs. I wouldn't order anything smaller. I like that they are bio degradable with a paper tube at center instead of plastic. They are convenient to carry in a coat pocket without any dispenser.
