Half as costly, but only slightly less convenient == Good value

And that's what this device supplies, plus it has a timer and it comes with UV blocking wrap around glasses to protect your eyes.
Construction is excellent. It's not fancy or anything, but it's fairly robust doesn't feel like it's easy to break, and there's not much that could go wrong with it. There's no on/off switch, you just unplug it when you're finished with it.
Because of a packaging error, the bulb was broken when I received it, but I was sent another one at no charge very quickly after I reported (with photo evidence) the breakage to the seller, which made me very happy.
The timer doesn't turn the bulb on and off, it just beeps when it counts down to zero. Which is just as well because turning it on and off for each area you want to cover would probably decrease the life of the bulb. You can adjust the time in seconds and minutes, and the package includes a log for keeping track of how much you're using the device, and instructions for how to ramp up your usage.
According to the instructions, you should start at 20 seconds and work your way up to where the affected area is starting to turn pink after treatment.
I've been treating my psoriasis every day for about 4 weeks, and this has worked better than booth tanning to clear up my lesions. With booth tanning, I sometimes have to tan so much it starts to look like I'm trying to be George Hamilton, but with this device I can focus the treatments and they don't end up being tanned. My lesions are mostly gone now, I wish I had taken a pic each day and made a movie out of it.
Another thing that's better with this is treating my scalp. I've had a large lesion on the back of my head for a long time, and regular tanning barely gets to it except right after I get my hair cut short. But with this thing I just kind of scan from bottom to top, pulling the hair up as I go. This exposes the scalp enough to get the UVB, and it's much healthier back there than it has been. No more being embarrassed going to the barber!

As good as a new battery
1 of 2 found this helpful As far as I can tell, this is just as good as a new battery. It arrived quickly in fresh packaging, and was flat, not puffed. I haven't flown it a lot, maybe three times, but it has remained flat and unpuffed after three rechargings. I haven't timed the flight time, but it seems normal. It would be nice if there were an exchange program, because I've got two puffed batteries I'd like to get rid of without having to throw them away.
