    Grossly Disappointed—My Last Otterbox
    I had problems with this case right out of the box. As many others have noted, the case does not fit properly around the volume buttons—it bulges out considerably, and the two pieces of the case don’t seal together properly—and the silence switch toggle does not engage with the actual switch on the phone. The buttons are hard to use—probably because the case doesn’t fit around them like it should. The gasket under the top piece of the case sticks out and covers the screen in places. Trying to plug/unplug the headphones is somewhat difficult through the small opening at the bottom of the case. I LOVE how thin the case is, but I can’t use my phone while it’s in the case! For $70, I expected A LOT more and MUCH HIGHER quality. I contacted Otterbox, and they were happy to send out a replacement—for an additional fee. Again, I spent $70 on this case and had problems with it right out of the box. Why should I have to spend money to get a replacement? I don’t care that it’s a “small charge to cover shipping”. If I have problems with a brand new item, the item should be replaced 100% free of charge. Adding to this frustration is the fact that Otterbox said it will take 10 days for the replacement to get to me. Based on the fact that so many reviews have mentioned the same problems I’ve described, and the fact that my wife’s case for her iPhone X also had the same problems from day 1, I don’t expect the replacement case to be any better than the one I’ve got now. Between the two cases, I wasted $147. No more Otterboxes for me. On another note, the video that Otterbox keeps referencing to help people install the case correctly so the silence toggle works properly is not helpful. Otterbox keeps saying the phone requires “specific installation” and “exact alignment”—supposedly outlined in the video—for all the features to work properly. The video simply says “insert phone face down in lid of case and snap back piece on”. Otterbox, do you really think people are messing that up and that’s causing their cases to fit poorly and not function properly? I 100% DO NOT recommend this case.
