Strong enough to use to ward off T-Rex! (THWAP!)
1 of 1 found this helpful I bought mine second hand a couple decades back. It served as a 2 meter base, a mobile and even a packet station transciever. Its been dropped multiple times, and thanks to super glue the battery case was repaired. The old Icom batteries need a charging jack added OR the blocking diode in the radio's power circuit will need to be removed to charge them on the radio. I mention tthis because Ive picked up several dozen of the Icom batteries at swapfests and ham auctions, I also rebuilt them with NiMH cells which are higher capacityand dont suffer memory issues. I have a couple larger packs a am going to fill with Lipo batteries for longer life and higher voltage At 13.8 volts these radios maintain a solid 5 plus watts output, however the lesser rechargable batteries (NiMH and nicads) drop from their peak voltage output rapidly, whereas the lithiums dont.

Home run!
I took the Pulse ox meter to mylast Doctor appointment. We compared our portable units to the diagnostic unit in his office ( it is a large regional clinic affiliate) and mine was accurate to 1/2 of 1% of the calibrated diagnostic unit, and more accurate than the doctors unit. Luck? Perhaps. But at this price a 2-3% variance is perfectly acceptable, since this is the range the body works in. And if you are using a pulse ox meter you should know what you are looking at before you try to interpet any readings in the first place. Bottom line is this unit hit a home run with accuracy and price, and its up to the user to do the rest.

Nice knife, bad sheath.
2 of 2 found this helpful This is a nicely made knife, but as with most inexpensive knives you need to keep your expectations within reason, there will be something that keeps the price down. In this instance it is the sharpness of the blade and the sheath. First the blade is "reasonably sharp", but it is not within the level of sharpness one would expect of this type of blade. within a few minutes I was able to bringe the blade to a razor edge with no effort what so ever. The bare strip on my forearm can attest to this fact. Secondly, no fixed bladed knife is readily useable without some form of sheath. The sheath supplied with this blade is made out of thin vinyl and is only suitable as a blade cover, and not for wearing on a belt as it is designed to do as the material is too thin to bear the weight of the knife. Once again, this simple deficency is enough to keep the price within the range it is in, and nothing to discourage someone from purchasing it. It is enough to keep this from a five star item however, and is why I gave it four stars. The big question is had I had the chance to examine it before purchasing it would I have still boutght it? Absolutely! It is well worth what I paid!
