Wires too short!
1 of 1 found this helpful After doing some custom modifications, I am very impressed with the sound quality from these speakers. I bought the MX6021's to replace my 15 year old Altec Lansing ADA 880 PC speakers because they started to make humming and popping sounds recently. I decided to try the MX6021 2.1 because of the great sound and service I got from my old Altec Lansing's. Here is the bad I noticed and probably voided my warranty, but I had to cut the propitiatory cables and splice in more speaker wire to separate the satellite speakers, then I plugged the hole in the sub with a rag and faced the sub toward the floor sitting on short 2x4's and it allowed me to drive a lot more bass to them. It really rocks now and shakes the walls impressively, but looked kind of dumb face-down, so I hid it under an end table. The sound is very clear and crisp and the bass is very tight. If not for those short cords, lack of remote control and not making a down-firing sub enclosure, I would have given it the highest rating.
