Dented cars.

Just wondering?
I bought two sets from two venders on ebay.
A quality control issue?
The #58 car has major defects in both sets. I realize some of these cars sets are approaching a quarter century old.
On one car, the sides are not clenched in to the exhausts.
Kind of cool because it has a boxy sheet metal Saturday night race look.
The second set. I thought was fine.
Until I found small cracks in that number 58 car also.
I have never seen this in my 67 years of playing with hot wheels.
Metal fatigue?
Or one race to many?
Or quality control?
I could search a forum.
