Takes some practice, works well, great deal
This is a fantastic little machine. Not only does it stabilize and pick up more over the air tv channels, it has a DVR capability with your USB stick ! It supports at least 128gb usb, might even support more, don't know.
You can record programs daily, once, or weekly.
AND, you can play all types of digital movies you may have, .avi, .mkv, etc.
BUT here's the DOWNSIDE. There are different versions of this box. I got an older one (2014), and then a newer one (2017). What's the difference?
The newer ones, when you find a show you want to program, you press the OK button and it goes into the queue with channel, date and times to start and stop.
With the older ones, It's like the old vcr days. You have to manually type in the date, stop and start times, channel. Every single digit. Imagine doing that for 4-5 programs?
Otherwise they're exactly the same, the older ones don't have that built into the software - so check for that if you plan to use it as a dvr.

mine lasted a year then transformer died
the lights are great. and transformers do die. but this is such a huge expensive transformer, you have to throw the whole thing away. and only after a year ?
it's a 2 pin transformer and if you want to replace it, it's $20 and up. another one off to fill up the dump.....

Installed easily, good deal
EZ install, laptop accepted it no problem. seems to run quickly, but to increase the ram this much for this price, a solid value. thanks !
