Works but didn't fit right, and started smoking

part works. the AC and Recirculation buttons at the bottom didn't fit through the hole on the cover. had to file our the dash cover so it would fit. dials don't fit through the holes all the way. in the end it works but ain't pretty. Used in a 98 New Beetle. UPDATE: It started smoking pretty badly around the fan control dial after a few months of use. At least I got a few months out of it. Getting rid of it because I don't want it to start my car on fire.
