Superb model for the time.
1 of 1 found this helpful The model is a great kit as one that should be built by an experienced modeler who is familiar with "exploded" drawings. The direction sheet is somewhat confusing compared to the more up to date ones with greater detailing. There are some fit issues but nothing that can't be worked out. I had problems with the cockpit windows and should have installed all to the interior to seat them properly. That is one issue with the instructions where the word "may" should read install the windows from the inside! As far as the age of the kit, it's old, one can note the indented locations on the model of where the decals are to be placed, oddly enough the 1/48 scale decals do fit. Overall, I would recommend this kit.

Excellent Plastic Scale Model
First off, this is not a toy. It is a plastic model kit that requires skill, patience and knowledge of building other plastic models from kits with complex parts and instructions. I build all sorts of models and with over 55 years of building I enjoy this type with lots of extra detailing parts included in the kit. The idea is to try to recreate scenes from The Second World War and this model will help the serious collector to do just that. All of the parts are well suited to fit together with "Super glue" with no fit issues. I painted my model parts first prior to putting them together in the recommended sequence of building. Anyone with tank building experience will not have any problems. Have fun!

Great for experienced modelers.
I used the road wheels and suspension on another brand of Sherman tank. But the remaining parts will be useful for other models.
