285-851 Spindle Assembly / John Deere GY21098

I'm a newbie

Well, this was a first for me, replacing spindles. Could have just replaced bearings, but as cheap as these aftermarket parts are, just pay a little more. YouTube is great for DIY. When I engaged the PTO, I honestly couldn't believe how quiet the spindles were. Not that these are of great quality, but that the originals were that bad. If I had to, I would buy them again

Not what I was hoping for

Over priced no doubt. If you are wondering if that red collar is plastic, it is. Does not work with standard small bits, only extended bits. But, not just extended bits, the ones that taper down in diameter. You can try forcing the bit in (extended bits with same diameter all the way to the tip), but it won't fit with ease. The magnet will pop out of that grade 8 plastic collar. It is a strong magnet though.

FS55

So I ordered this kit for my FS55, and everything seemed good except for one hole in the gasket on the diaphragm side of the carb. Mine has a small hole exactly center between 2 of the screw holes at the top. This kit, has the hole off center, very close to one of the screw holes. So it would be blocking or closing off fuel or air. I made my own hole in center, and the FS55 runs fine. So I don't know if I would recommend this kit. It's obviously the wrong gaskets. I notified the seller just to inform him, and that it works for me and no issues, but I haven't heard anything back from the seller. Not even a thank you for the heads up. It's been 5 days. Anyways, the quality seemed good and all parts were correct except the one hole.
