Great childrens book for animal lovers!

This is a great book for kids 8-14 or so, especially girls who aspire to be veterinarians. The book is written from an 11 year old girl's perspective as she shadows her Uncle Bob (a veterinarian) for 6 weeks while she spends summer vacation with him. She describes a day in the life of a vet in her own words, and the variety of occurrences that go on there each day and the outcomes, the people she meets, the jobs she does, the stray dog she fell in love with, and new found friends going through losses with their pets. It was very well written. I read it to my 8 year old son and he really enjoyed it.

This book will get you thinking!

Great book, though it is a classic---my 13 year old son and I enjoyed reading it together and he could definitely see its importance and applications to today's society, governmental control, and the need for free-thinking. We are also looking forward to the movie Atlas Shrugged when it comes out which was another excellent book written by her. Ayn Rand was definitely an author way ahead of her time, and will get your thinking. This book has undertones of the fear brought about during the pre WWII era similar to George Orwell's 1984. I highly recommend it!
