works with my tcl roku tv's
this rc al2 rocu remote will work with my tcl s405 and tcl s517 roku tv's
it will pair with both models.
dispite the tcl company telling me the tcl voice controlled r f remotes will not work with my s405tv. it pairs and works fine. the only thing it does not have is the headphone jack. which i wouldn't be useing any way.
most tcl buyers that bought these tv's without the voice controlled remotes found out that they can not get it later from tcl. i haven't found anyone that sells the remote.

vx8350 accessible to the blind.

you may need sighted help the first time because the voice command list may not speak.
press the voice command key on the bottom left side of the phone. the voice command menu will pop up and ask you for a command. press the right soft key and use the down navigation key until you get to the prompts
press the center button in the ring. this is the ok key
the first in the list is mode.
this list does not talk. but it does have a high and low beep when you wrap to the top of the menu. when you hear the low beep press the o k key. this will turn on promps and alerts.
from now on you will have voice access to many bout not all of the menus.
you can only go to the third or fourth sub menu with speech.
you have speech access to the voice command list and all of the options from the command list 3 sub menus down.
the contact list,the music player
phone status for: battery,signal strength ,network you are on,missed calls,missed email,missed messages but it will not speak the messages.
will speak the numbers on the key pad.
you can go directly to many of the menus through the voice command go to menu
to go to your photos, music and ring tones useing the voice command functions.
you can change the ring tones your self without help to choose the ring tones you want to use.
over all this is a good phone without haveing to use a $300 screen reader like talks or mobile speak.
you could send text messages but incomeing text messages are not spoken. you can not surf the net because there is no speech support.
i would buy other headphones. the ear buds included with the lg music kit do not stay in your ears.
the music player is ok. but it is not ment to be a full featured mp3 player. the speakers are too small and you can only skip from track to track or pause and continue playing after you have started the player from the music menu. the play list does not speak. but there are only 4 options.
play all,by author,title or random.
this model has a internal antenna and does not pull in the signal as well as the vx8300 with its external antenna. i only get 3 bars in my home the vx8300 had 6 bars. this is strong enough most of the time. except in severe storms.
the vx8350 has a concave key pad so you can feel where the numbers are and when settup will speak the numbers when you press them.
this phone still has voice dial and voice call from the phone book.
i used a program data pilot to create my contact list on my computer and transfer it to the phone. this is easier then useing the phone to add contacts to the list.

not as described
i was hoping that i would be able to use this remote because it uses buttons , not a lcd screen that i can't see
the original remote menu wrap back to the top when you reach the last menu item. so i don't know where i am on the menu list.
the problem with this remote is it is suppose to be compatible with my visio sound bar. It is it only controls the volume and power.
it won't control the base, treble or the sound bar funtions for tv, music movie or night mode.
the function to check the volume for each speaker with a female voice can't be accessed.
its no better then the original remote. accessibility for both remotes is the same.
i can only control the volume and power.
