VR Technology still young
0 of 1 found this helpful Reviewing Samsung Gear VR i would say that Vr technology is still very young.
Even Samsung Galaxys S6/S7 Edge screen resolution is not enough.
You can clearly see the pixels even with high quality videos.
It's not a device fault. It is what it is.
That being said,it is certainly worth to try it since it is one of the best(if not the best) for mobile Vr experience.
Prefer animated apps and videos.They look much better than real videos.
Videos look better if downloaded and not streamed but still poor quality even with demo videos.
No support an all video/audio codecs but it's a legal issue. Anyway watching movies on the device is highly NOT recommended due to very poor quality, no matter what.
Limitation on Play Store Apps can be easilly overcome with a simple Google search
but don't expect any miracles with Play Store Apps.
Overall it's worthy trying the Gear Vr but not with great expectations.
There are times when the experience is very immersive but that's not the case with the majority of apps and videos.
I recommend buying the Gear VR 2016 only at a very good price.It is usally around 80$-100$ in stores so around half of it should be fine.
