A essencial modelling accessory for kit building
For modelers, this rod represent very good value for money, being easy to work with and durable.
These rods can replace those supplied with many models, including some metal rods or masts who are prone to bend or be damaged. Instead, these rods are solid and easy to keep straight, making the a good choice if a replacement is required.
I did use them to replace white metal masts, easy to bend, and these are much stronger, able to cope with the use over a wargame table,
I advise to use a primer before painting them, and they take the usual modellers paint and glue without problems, making them easy to use instead of the original parts.

A must for any WW1 airfield scenario
The Orion Pilots of the First World War, now sold by Dark Dream Studio, is a somewhat unique set, including 48 figures in 24 poses, representing flying and ground personnel from the air services of Britain, Russia, Germany and France.
This is an interesting set, with a large variety of well moulded figures of reasonable sculpting quality in poses suitable to be placed near WW1 aeroplanes and, in some cases, interacting with them. Unlike most sets, this one is made to complement aeroplanes and only this interaction can justify many poses which may seem absurd unless the figure is placed near a plane.
The figures are evenly divided for all nations included, meaning there are 12 figures and 6 poses for each nation, covering most needs for diorama makers, but assuming the risk of including many useless figures for those who collect just one nationality.
Some figures, with small changes, can be converted from one nationality to another, others, as the girl are universal, so it's possible to reach 8-10 different poses for most nationalities without too much work.
The historical accuracy of the figures is excellent, with interesting details, and when placed inside or near a suitable plane, poses do make sense and look realistic, but are a little small to 1/72, with most being just 1.60 assuming this is the correct scale.
While some figures are easy to place in most scenarios, others are far more specific, as the german pilot entering the aircraft, compatible with just a few aeroplanes, or are compatible with a given period, as the british pilot with a handgun, suitable for the earlier months of the war, before the machine gun become universal, meaning not all figures of a single nation may be available for a given scenario.
A major issue to many modellers is the soft plastic chosen by Orion and DDS, as happens with most 1/72 figures, instead of using hard plastic. The soft plastic doesn't take paint and glues easely, requiring priming and a special glue, but these figures are easy to replicate in resin using a liquid silicone mould, if a more complex conversion is required.
The small scenario I made includes some of the German figures and a couple British figures, one of them is the mechanic listening to the engine, with small modifications, and the other the girl visiting the airfield, both of them suitable to be modified or included directly in almost any scene. The tent and the small storage hut are scratchbuild, the spare engine and propellers are from Roden, as is the Junkers D.I airplane.
Despite some shortcomings, this set doesn't have any direct rival, as most figures representing pilots or ground crew from this era are expensive resin figures, meaning it can be a good bet for those who make dioramas representing WW1 air bases and have a limited budget.

A good starting point to a diorama
As most Amera products this is a vacuum form model, supplied in white plastic and requiring some work to be finish.
This model represents a German airfield, however can be used for other nations as nothing specific is included. The small shelter, the tents or the storage are compatible with most 1/72 models, regardless of he nation they represent. For a while, Airfix supplied this same base with a Messerschmitt Bf109E, a Opel Blitz and PAK 40 gun and a Luftwaffe ground personal set and for this reason the base is related with the Germans.
I added some features, as the wooden base for airplanes, some netting, a few trees and redone the tents to improve the vase model. Started to paint my base with a cheap acrylic paint, then added some dust and grass to achieve a more realistic effect. The models are the same as those included in the Airfix set, with the older Bf 109E replaced with the currente production kit, and the PAK 40 gun isn't present because wasnt available in 1940.
This Amera base is a good start to build a diorama, being both cheap and well detailed, but need some work to represent a German base.
