I have definitely made the right choice upgrading to the Canon EOS 70D
6 of 6 found this helpful My experience so far with the Canon 70D and its performance has been amazing. I have upgraded from a 550D. The capability and speed of the 70D is worlds apart from my old camera. I cannot recommend this camera enough for someone like me that is at best an amateur that likes to take nice photographs. The speed and capability of the focusing system is fantastic, and making changes to Aperture, shutter speed are much quicker and very easy. The new articulated touch screen means I no longer have to position myself in weird places just to see the screen or viewfinder.
One area where I have had a problem was with the new lens that I also purchased at the same time. I purchased a Tamron 17-50mm f2.8 VC lens, which turned out to not be compatible with the 70D, and beware when importing from the Far East, as Tamron EU do not want to know, nor care if you have any problems. I now own a Sigma 17-50mm f2.8 lens and this has proved to be flawless so far, and the perfect upgrade from the standard 18-55mm kit lens.
