Very nice product, could use more complete documentation
Pros: Works very well at a very affordable price. Nice compact unit with full sound features.
Cons: By design this unit wants to plug in to a PC board interface. That's inconvenient if you are space-constrained. I had to remove the connector and make wired connections. Finding the documentation for this was a bit of a search, but I eventually found what I needed on the Soundtraxx site.

Kadee #33 Coupler for Proto-2000 SD-7
The usual excellent Kadee quality. Also the usual delicate Kadee springs needing care and good tweezers to deal with them.
Only problem I had is that despite what Kadee says on their web-site, the #33 coupler doesn't quite fit the Proto-2K SD7. The Kadee-supplied mounting screw heads stick up high and prevent the body shell from seating properly. I had to modify the coupler box (after installing the springs and gluing on the lid), using a countersink on the top of the box (spring-side UP, coupler DOWN) so I could fasten the coupler box with flat-head screws. That got me enough clearance for the body shell to seat properly. And the couplers work great.
Note that this is NOT the eBay seller's fault, it's a Kadee problem. Since I had researched installing couplers in the Proto-2K SD7 on the various forums, I was not surprised.
What the heck, it's a hobby!
