Just like my mother's! Just what I was looking for!
Granite-Ware's #510 model of roaster just finished baking our Thanksgiving 20# turkey to perfection! My old roaster, just like this one, had developed rust flakes after decades of service.
My dilemma, in choosing a new roaster, was whether to buy the #509 model, or this #510 model. According to the Granite-Ware website, I felt the #510 with its bigger capacity would better fit our family. The #510 was perfect and handled that 20# turkey easily.
The roaster, itself, heats evenly and is easy to clean up (using cooking spray before beginning to bake/roast, of course). The higher sides help to prevent spattering during baking and make it less likely to spill the juices when moving the pan from oven to counter.
