great drive
I decided to buy this drive b/c of its speed due to its hybrid technology. It has proven to perform very well, is super fast and has absolutely no compatibility issues. Windows install was fast.
The only negative is that I think it runs just a bit hot. Sometimes my palm, that rests over the hard drive, feels a little bit hotter than it did before.
But in conclusion I highly recommend this drive.

Almost useless for VHS - needs extra equipment
Unfortunately, the Blackmagic Intensity Shuttle looks a lot better than it performs. For so much money one would expect this to work, but after three hours of fiddling with wires and through-putting via tv's and whatever else I had in the overflowing "wire drawer" I only managed to get a couple of dropped frames. After searching online, I realized that in order to get VHS tapes to work (as I am trying to digitize all my old VHS tapes to hard drives) you need all sorts of different mediating devices to get this to work. So 200 bucks and it doesn't convert VHS signal to thunderbolt. It literally gets hot doing nothing, it is not daisy-chainable as it has only one thunderbolt port and there is no support on blackmagic's site.
