A thrifty option to finding an original Gibson tailpiece
The material is plated steel and as it arrived the angle was too steep to fit a 1918 Gibson A model and had to be heated to anneal it so that it could be bent to fit, both the angle of the
strings toward the bridge and the curvature of the lower bout. The hole for the endpin was correct and had to be reamed slightly to receive the original endpin. The screw hole below it was ok. The upper two screw holes required drilling of the wood to fit screws there. The cover fits the original tailpiece as is and is obviously a replacement, but a thrifty option to finding an original.
