Florastor is the gold standard of this type of probiotic
2 of 2 found this helpful Saccharomyces boulardi is a yeast-grown probiotic, unlike all others, which are bacterial. Florastor has been around over 40 yrs. and in my experience is MUCH more potent than other reputable brands. Many hospitals use this now for patients on antibiotics. It not only survives antibiotics, but can stop dysentry caused by them, and also prevent that and other side-effects of antibiotic therapy-including c. diff. I used another brand when I had an infection severe enough to require months of i.v. antibiotic use. It was not helpful. At the urging of a naturapathic dr., I switched to Florastor and within 12 hrs. my symptoms had resolved. It is also useful for re-regulating your intestines after long use of laxatives. I always keep some around in case I need to go on antibiotics, and these packets are a wonderfully way to get a high dose at a much lower cost. I recently used these 3x/day for 2 wks. that I was on antibiotics-and I could not afford to do that dose w/pills. Easy to mix in a little water and the taste is mild.

Great-toasts evenly, but breaks easily. Gentle w/pushing down-make sure keep warm lever not pushed in

First one broke after only two years-I think because the keep warm lever pushes in too easily (I don't deliberately use it), and that wears out the push down lever-which is very fragile on this model. Like the toaster-which actually toasts both sides of bread-enough to replace w/same model.

Literally "stinks" and a week of airing outside did nothing-vendor was great about refund
If you like the smell of recycled tires, you'll love this. It gives me an instant and severe headache. I actually left it outside for over 2 wks. before consigning it to landfill. I offered it around to neighbors, and they all said things like, "Oh thanks a bunch-what an awful stench." I give up on ordering this item online. I'll pay a bit more at my local Radio Shack, where I can smell it before I decide to buy it.
