Fusion Drive not set up properly
When I received the mini, the SSD and HHD of the fusion drive were shown as separate drives through finder, disk manager and on the desk top. I had had no experience with Fusion Drives in the past so I had no idea that it was a problem. I tried three or four different ways to migrate my data from my existing iMac to the mini but time after tiime there was not enough space according to ""Migration Assistant". I then resorted to manually installing the os on the SSD and manually moving other data files to the HHD hoping I could get them to work.
After two days of this, I said to myself that it should be this hard to do. So I finally did some research on what a fusion drive is and how is is created and supposed to be how it's to be exposed to the operating system. After following the steps to create "fuse" the SSD and HHD together, The drive appeared as one to the system and I was able to use migration assistant to move all my data.
As fusion drives seem to be rare, even today, I just chalked it up to a positive learning experience.
As far as the general performance of this model I am thoroughly how it's speed measures up to even much newer iMacs. Very happy with the performance.
I would only advice against considering purchasing this model or one this old is if one needed a system that output modern day resolutions and response time.
For me, I've had 3 iMacs and to MacBook Pros. I'm very happy with this best of the minis Apple ever made, with a 24" monitor.

Exactly what I needed.
Inexpensive way to diagnose motherboard issues if MO or case does not already come with an internal speaker. Once plugged in and used, I was able to diagnose the problem immediately and fix it. Thank you.
