Lots of good recipes listed, some very similar to each other
There are many good sounding recipes. I have not had a chance to try any of them yet, just recently got my book. However, I do notice 2 things that kept me from giving it 5 stars. There are many recipes that seem to be repeats except for a slight name change, and a couple of ingredients different; otherwise almost a copy of other recipes. Also, there are NO pictures of the food or ingredients....just small generic sketches or drawings. I would much rather had a small or medium sized picture of the ingredients or finished dinner rather than a tiny black/white drawing of a crock pot, or a little picnic table with an umbrella, just to fill in a spot on the page. Many of her meat/ dinner recipes list mushrooms as an ingredient, and I'm allergic to mushrooms, so not sure what to add as a substitute; or just leave it out and hope it tastes ok without them. Or just not make that one. Otherwise, the author has included information in the front about diabetes that will be helpful to many cooks. She DOES include nutrition info and slow cooker size for that recipe.
