Works well with HF dust collectors. Great Dust Bag.
For HF dust collector owners. Your HF dust collector bag is 19 1/2" in diameter. The Powertec bag is 20" in diameter and is too loose to clamp without a little tweaking. No problem. Purchase some camper shell sealer sticky back foam tape. You may need two rolls to get the job done. It is 1 1/4" wide. Wrap about 3 wraps around the top edge of the metal drum. Check the bag fit. If it doesn't yet have a snug fit then wrap it with another layer. Keep doing this until you have a nice snug fit. Next, just below the first wrap start a second wrap since 1 1/4" isn't wide enough to work so by adding an extra wrap around the barrel just below the first wrap it will make a 3" surface to clamp against. Next, The Powertec bag is much thicker material than the HF bag so your clamping strap will end up being too short. Use a wire coat hanger and make an extension clip on the end of the tensioning clip on the metal band strap. Needle nose pliers will work well for making the bend on the ends of the extension wire. Once you have the proper length then close the end loops of your extension wire so it won't fall off. If the extension is too long or too short then make another until you have a good tight fit when you snap the clamp shut. The Powertec bag is plenty long enough to pull it down over both rows of sticky back foam sealer. Once you have your extension clip the right length then pull the bag down so it is even or a little below the lower band of sticky foam. Run the clamping band around the bottom of the bag so it is about centered on the bottom row of foam tape and snap the clamp handle. This worked will for me and it should work just as well for you. Next, remove the clear 'catch bag' from the bottom of the metal barrel and wrap some duct tape, or use sticky back foam, around the bottom edge of the barrel. The clear bag will expand with age and create leakage even with the clamp tight. If need be you can make a fold somewhere on the edge of the clear plastic bag to take up some slack and put some duct tape over the fold, then replace the clamping band. For me, the clear bag was more difficult to seal than the new powertec bag was.

This product is AWESOME.
This product is AWESOME. I came by an angle grinder in a yard sale that had this wheel installed. It was probably about 1/3 worn. I used it and used it for numerous projects and although it is almost worn out there is still some life left. Just to be sure I was never without one I ordered 2 new ones. I have not yet had to use either one, but at least I know I have back up. I have a medium sized home shop, much larger than a 2 car garage. My adult son and I do many types of shop projects plus maintain his home repair and yard business. Now that I have used the Rapid Strip Wheel I would never want to be without one.
