A benefic carburetor!
31 May 2021 As I have 2 bikes, a 2000 FLSTC, and a 2000 FXSTS, I ordered a second Mikuni HSR-42 carburetor and received it today. The FLSTC's carburetor, after 80k miles, was idling poorly, stalling the engine. Tristly, the carb. did not include an instruction pamphlet! Fortunately, I still had the one that was included with the initial Mikuni carb that I purchased 3 annums ago. Also, to my surprise and disgust, I found that an adapter is required to mount the stock, H-D air filter assembly. Wondering how I installed the air filter assy. to my bike with the initially-purchased Mikuni, I examined the bike and saw that it had an adapter between the air filter backing plate and the carburetor. I then found one on the Internet and ordered it. Now my bike runs well! Like the first one I purchased, this latest Mikuni carb. also functions perfectly!

7 April 2018, My critique: Alphawire, Teflon coated, stranded,16 AWG, alto-temperature: 200º C wire is A-OK! I used it to re-wire a commercial kitchen food warmer. Application for this wire include caloric-producing appliances such as ovens, cheese melters etc.

15 June 2017 These Minimags are not perfect but they are the best I've seen. The benefic things: they use 2 (or 3) AA cells, not some odd cells or batteries as do other flashlights. Minimags are of a convenient size and shape. I always keep one on my person with the aid of the convenient belt pouch. The mal things: Sometimes the end cap becomes loose thus the electrical connection interupted. Besides re-tightening the end cap, often banging the unit is necessary to get the light back on. It has 3 operation modes: full brightness, lower brightness and flashing. I have no need for the flashing mode, and find it a nuisance as the setting gets in the way of switching to the 2 desireable settings, the low and full brightnesses. If you have the older Minimags or Mags with conventional incandescent lamps, retro-fit LED lamps can be purchased from Ebay to make your flashlight much better i.e. LED lamp durability and low power drain. The charge of the AAA, AA, or D cells will have a much greater duration!
