Nice wide angle lens!
A very nice wide angle lens that quickly became a favorite. Very good for landscape and real estate photography.

Macro Heaven
Very nice lens, needs phase detection auto focus so if all your camera supports is contrast detection auto focus, manual focus will have to be used. Very sharp macro with close range correction through the employment of floating elements so aperture will vary according to focal range instead of zoom range as most may be used to. I compared it to 3 other professional macro lenses I own from 3 different manufacturers this 150 2.8 apo was the sharpest at a 1:1 macro range but didn't perform as well at a medium telephoto range for portraiture and such, it is a little softer when used at a medium telephoto but just a little. Depending on the models skin tone ,imperfections and blemishes, that little bit of softness may be an attractive aspect. I am stockpiling camera equipment to resell, this 150 2.8 apo will not be going into the sell pile.

Nice Prime
1 of 1 found this helpful For such an affordable prime lens this little 50 1.7 is a perfect tag along for low light if you have a steady hand and great for close up portraiture. Very sharp stopped down to 1.7 but will require some fine tuning with the manual focus ring most of the time if your too close. At f8 to f11 it's possible to get a nicely blurred background while keeping your subject perfectly focused using just the auto focus.
