Great Fit
This was the exact match for my ASUS laptop and has me back up and running and free from a wall outlet again. Charges fast, stays cool and gives me about another hour runtime on battery.

New life for Retired System
Put this memory in an older laptop and then installed a 64 bit version of Windows 7 Pro and got a perfect system for my Pop to use. Has been running great and no issues whatsoever now for 2 years. One of the best ways to breathe new life into an older system.

Lighten the load
1 of 1 found this helpful After the factory tailgate assist on my 78 year old mother's 2006 F150 bit the dust; she was having a very hard time with opening and dropping the tailgate. Her arms would no longer support the weight as it was being lowered and she would have to just let it drop. Sounded like it was going to rip the support cables off the back of the truck, not to mention the pain it inflicted on her wrists each time she had to do this.
Closing the tailgate was easier because she could go at it from a different angle, so she had no real problems handling this action.
So, what to do? The original assist mechanism is a torsion bar that extends from the drivers side of the tailgate almost all the way across the length of the tailgate and isn't replaceable. The bolt that holds this torsion bar on the passenger side had sheared off, and there is no access and no real way to get in and repair it because of the framework inside the assembly. Short of cutting holes in the back of the tailgate to get at the rod, there is nothing that can be done but buy a replacement tailgate assy. We had already decided to bite the bullet and get a replacement, paint it to match the truck and install it to replace the original. $$$$$
Then I found this Dee Zee Tailgate Assist Shock while I was looking through all the tailgates on eBay and thought what the heck, it can't hurt to try it.
This works perfectly! She can open the tailgate with one finger and just let the thing drop slowly and softly to the open position. Installation was an absolute breeze and the Dee Zee Tailgate Assist Shock fits in the space between the tailgate and the edge of the back of the bed with out any conflict for the support cable. In fact if you don't look for it, you wouldn't know it was there.
I'm just glad I kept scrolling down that list until I came across this little beauty. I've already suggested getting one of these to a friend of mine who has a Dodge 2500 he uses in his construction business to keep the guys who work for him from trying to rip his tailgate off every time they open the back.
If you have a truck that doesn't have drop assist, or have one like my mom's where it just gave out, you can't beat the Dee Zee Tailgate Assist Shock to help reduce the wear and tear on one of the most abused parts of your truck.
It's a WINNER!
