The Claire B. Schaeffer adaptation of the famous Chanel ''little French Jacket"
First off I must say that I have not used it yet. I have looked it over about four times and may wait until after the Holidays to start if. It is exciting in a tailoring sort of a way as it goes into a lot of detail about the step by step construction, and why those steps are necessary in that order. I think one of the notes that is particularly noteworthy is to remember, it says, that the quilting of the jacket actually makes it smaller, so order size accordingly or enlarge the pattern a little to allow for that.
I think that another step may also help and that is to see, online, some of the jackets that have been made by others and follow some of their experiences with construction. Some say to use the Vogue 7975 pattern first, as a warm up to this one, but that the sleeves in this one are the better sleeves and really mark it as the real thing, the real Chanel. Also Schaeffer has several books out about sewing this style jacket, I have the Couture Sewing, one, with the red sequined jacket on the cover. It covers this jacket, also. The pattern itself goes into a lot of detail about it.

Beautiful, Heavy and Holds 8 Cups!
If you are lucky enough to find one of these Teapots I will tell you to buy it at once! Classy, elegant and yet can be right for a casual table setting, too. It is heavy and well designed with most of the weight at the bottom. The Gold trim is bright and shiny and the Cobalt Blue color is rich and deep but not at all black in apperence. Easy to pour, easy to clean, beautiful as a decoration on a shelf, too. Holds eight cups of Tea instead of the more common 6 cups. This teapot would make an excellent gift to a tea loving person in your life!

A Must for All Who Want to Better Their Bodies
I have, now, three versions of this book! I bought this last one because the first one, which looked just like it was falling to pieces after about twenty years of use. When I bought the second one, several years ago, I noticed that the author, Bill Pearl the man on the cover with the lady in work out clothes, well, they had been re-done a little from the original. This was a newer and revised edition. This was missing some of my favorite pages but had updated items in it.
When I saw the one that I just purchased it looked like the original, so I bought it. Needless to say, it is excellent, but slightly different than the original. The cover looked like the first one.
There seems to be at least three versions of this book and they are, overall, very close to the same with some variable updates.
The illustrations are excellent and easy to use. The layout of the book is easy to follow. There is lifting and excercising shown using machines and/or free weights. Also included are chapters on rehab for injuries, which I find very, very good. There are also pages and or chapters that feature a look at various types of treadmills, weight machines and other equipment. There is a historical review of weight lifting dating back to the early Middle East, through Greece and Rome, up to the present. I found Mr. Bill Pearls' journey/ history through childhood, High School, Navy and weight lifting, including Mr. Universe in the late 1940's, to be fascinating and inspiring. He has a very common sense approach that is informative and encouraging without being narscissitic or intimidating. The book is big, thick and worth every minute spent with it, a must for any body builder, athlete dieter or home gym user. A good way to stay healthier and stronger!
