The Independent Homestead
I found the content of this book compelling because of the way they use/re-use or manage to do things with less money but end up with serviceable equipment. I also was very interested in their pasture management and how it had built soil on badly abused land. And thirdly I found the ways they used their excess dairy very interesting. I even tried making mozzarella from their directions. This is definitely a book to have on a homesteader's bookshelf.

Lots of history about how various plants became domesticated, and how they lost nutrition in the process. More information on the varieties that have the highest nutrition. Learn how to cook them to retain the nutrition.
Easy to read, engaging, interesting.

Lovely Books for my Bookcase
Lovely little books. The gold printed bindings are pretty nice. Nice selection of book titles.
