McIntosh C2200 Stereo Tube Preamplifier with Original Box Remote

Mcintosh C-2200 ,king of all Tube Preamps.
1 of 1 found this helpful I've owned over 30 different preamps with 11 Preamps and pre/pros being made by McIntosh ,the McIntosh C-2200 is superior to every preamp I've used weather it be solid state or tubes ,the design has a very specific sound quality that when doing A vs B testing on the fly stands out like a sore thumb in a good way ,the clarity of this preamp is insane as is the tonal quality , although rarely needed the C-2200 is equipped with absolutely the best tone control circuits in the industry ,if you don't need them they stay out of the circuit path ,but if your recording needs some help the Bass tone control is like no other Bass tone control circuits I've ever used ,normal Bass control circuits create a bloated boomy bass ,the C-2200s Bass control circuits add low end warmth vs bloat ,when employed the bass control adds more depth & what my ears percive as an increased bass response ONLY in the lowest bass frequencies from 20hz to 10hz ,the treble controls are something special as well ,when employed they add to the Preamps already pin point imaging and add to the rich warm sound associated with quality tube Preamps ,the C-2200 has a self biasing circuit so you never need to bias your tubes as well as a Tube Preheat function that prevents users from operating the preamp with cold tubes and destroying tube life ,the units dual quads of tubes are preheated in 20 to 30 seconds in winter & 10 seconds in summer ,the preamp comes standard with very beautiful and highly functional wattage meters that add a splash of beauty to an all tube based system ,or systems without wattage monitoring systems ,it's styling is timeless as is shown by it's value being as high used as it cost new when it 1st came out ,I share my love of audio with my sons and my eldest son has been working overtime and on weekends to save up to buy himself a C-2200 preamp for his system so I bought my 2nd McIntosh C-2200 which is 7 years newer than mine for my son's Xmas present & he's like a school kid happy , there are very few pieces of electronics that have that little extra something that makes them special and the McIntosh C-2200 has it in spades ,it's garanteed never to disappoint ,below are both the C-2200 Preamps i own .

Mcintosh C-2200 Tube Preamp replacement remote .
The build quality of the " Redi Remote " is superior to my McIntosh Factory supplied remote and has remote functions the factory remote doesn't have ,this isn't some cheap programmable remote where you'll lose functionality when batteries die ,these are remote control units that are program dedicated to the equipment they control ,I've had a C-2200 Preamp for over a decade & never knew I could adjust " Trim " levels until my new Redi Remote brought the option up on the LED menu ,I've bought & sold over 200 pieces of big $ high end audio equipment on Audiogon dot com in which my new Redi Remote bests a solid 90% of high end remotes I've owned ,using Audiogons STRICT grading scale I give Redi Remote a 10 for build quality ,a 10 for functionality ,a 10 for asthetics ,a 10 for ease of use and a 10 for attention to detail ,I'm " Bigjoe" on Audiogon where you can see my feedback for owning ultra high quality high fidelity audio equipment I'm saying my new Redi Remote is superior in quality to ,here's a pic of the McIntosh C-2200 preamp my Redi Remote is now proudly controlling ,I cannot stress build quality high enough , pictures provided are of some of the high end high fidelity stereo & home theater systems in my home ,the Redi Remote is controlling every preamp with the blue meters aka McIntosh C-2200 Tube preamplifier .

Dont be fooled by the low price.
I expected very little and was extremely suprised when I saw and felt the quality of materials used ,I have gold plated RCA covers on 1 of my systems that cost me over $200 and they aren't any better than these 1,000 pack rubber covers ,they fit snug and are thick enough they won't rip ,I have a $70,000 McIntosh system these RCA Jack's covers have been installed on & I couldn't be happier with the product ,here's the rig I installed the product on .
