A small, sadly overlooked gem
2 of 2 found this helpful One of my favorite movies, but few people have heard of it. Ellen Burstyn plays Edna May MacCauley, who, after a tragedy, discovers she has healing powers. She doesn't know where they came from and refuses to speculate on their origin. While most people simply accept her gift as a blessing, others are suspicious, insisting if she doesn't proclaim that her powers are from God, they must be from the devil.
Burstyn gives an Oscar-nominated performance as Edna, who simply wants to go on with her life. Along the way, she has to deal with her cold, bitter father (another great performance by Roberts Blossom) from whom she is alienated, and a boyfriend who doesn't fully understand her powers.
Be prepared for tears. There are many touching moments, including one that made me want to go to Machu Picchu. I made it.

Okay, but...
Arrived very quickly and they looked good. However one snap fell off during the first washing. No big deal as I only plan to use them once a year for my steampunk costume, but it is annoying.
