This is an intense historical book on facts of the German nation states which were in the hundreds to become one nation. If you wish to know how the multi nations of the Holy Roman Empire became unified and into the modern Germany that we know it to be, this is the book for you. It is not simple to read just one chapter since there is so much covered for the beginnings of the German nation. Maps are needed and they are wonderful from the Theodore Miller map collection of black and whites. Perfect for anyone to see the growth, merging of the many into the states of Bismarck's reign in the 19th century.

It is a very good historical book on the prohibition and the 20's in America. The book bases itself on the series Boardwalk Empire and tells the story of the era in a no nonsense style. You understand the government who wishes to end any sale of alcohol to the public and the crimmals who are very glad to sell it to the public who wishes to continue drinking even with the ban on the substance.
