Interesting buildings and where to find them
Around the British countryside are odd buildings of various sizes built by the wealthy classes of the 18th and early 19th.centuries. This book tells you about them, why they were built and where to find them and it is really interesting as well as entertaining.

Fun in a cold pool
We had stayed in a building with a plunge pool, The Bath House near Wellesbourne, owned by the Landmark Trust. It's in a wood at the bottom of a slope overlooking the countryside beyond. The living room was decorated with hundreds of seashells in festoons on the walls, while down the stone steps was the pool surrounded by stone walls and ceiling, so we had to use it and it was pretty cold, but really refreshing.
So we had to get a copy of this book we found on the bookshelves in the living room to find out their history and it is fascinating and links into other idiosyncratic buildings and interesting people. I learnt so much.
