A quiet gem
This lovely, quiet comedy features normal-looking people engaged in their passion (metal detecting). The outdoor scenes, where our detectorists wield their tools in fallow fields and chat philosophically with one another, are like a summer day remembered. The characters are believable, and the writers portray these quirky people with honesty, never making fun. The plots are engaging and funny. Lovely to see Dame Diana Rigg and her real-life daughter Rachael Stirling playing mother and daughter in the series. This comedy is like few others on TV. Despite its quiet, everyday tone, the plot keeps you going. Wonderful!
