RARE! Vintage 90's Fender Prophecy II Electric Bass W/Case! **M**

Great bargain at its market value
I own five Fender Prophecy basses.... Two are like this bolt-on model; my other three are the Prophecy III model ( neck thru, Ebony fretboard). These are hot basses with plenty of gain in their preamps. Only drawback is the single coil bridge pickup is noisy.....so you'll be rolling off the treble when soloing or favoring the bridge pickup in you blend Fender didn't do much to properly shield the single coil - you might get away with that on a passive setup, but not with hot active preamp. You will want to do some simple cavity shielding and grounding to quiet things down if you're playing in quieter settings.
The Prophecy series are very nicely crafted otherwise- the necks are very stable, decent tuner machines and they stay in tune quite well. The smaller body (shape and thickness) bring the weight down and make this bass very comfy for gigging. The smaller 2x2 headstock (vs a Fender Jazz for example) provide for excellent balance. I own a bunch of basses, many high end..... I find myself playing my Prophecys at gigs a lot.
This could be a great bass at the right price point - Prophecy II models in very good condition should go for about $350..... Prophecy III neck thru models at about $500-550. My source of pricing info?....that's about what I paid for the five I bought through eBay or CL or other online sources over the last six years, including HS cases or padded gig bags.
Also, you might run across these same guitars branded with the Heartfield name....they are 100% identical but usually fetch a few bucks less because they don't fear the Fender name. If you can find one at those prices, these are a real bargain because their quality and playability equal that of other more common name brands that sell for the $500-750 range.

Good mixer for the money. Built solid. Good feel to the pots, and the preamps are decently quiet. For the price, great for live and esp outdoors
