The Night Before
This is an early Keanu Reeves film and it is funny and romantic. He plays Winston (the Junior Class nerd) who has a date with the prettiest girl in his class to the class prom. Unfortunately, while Winston is thrilled with his date, Tara (Lori Loughlin); she considers a date with Winston as just an evening she needs to get through and over with! Diaster after diaster--getting lost in the wrong part of town--Tara being kidnapped after Winston accidentally sells her to a pimp is just some of the couple's problems. This movie is worth the viewing just to see Winston and Tara dance. If I could have a do-over to the Prom, I would choose Winston as my date! Keanu is so sweet in this role. As a teenager (polite, kind, optimistic, hopeful)he is a gem! Loved this film!

Point Break
An exciting movie that is a triumph for both Patrick Swayze and Keanu Reeves. This film has crime (armed bank robberies), danger (extreme surfing and also sky diving), and romance (Keanu Reeves and Lori Petty). Keanu Reeves plays the "blue plate special FBI agent"---and his partner is played by Gary Busey. Undercover work for Johnny Utah (Keanu Reeves)in the surfer community and falling in love with Tyler (Lori Petty) compromises this young hero's effort to be a straight-arrow FBI man. He finds it difficult to stay as detached as he needs to be to catch the bank robbers. The movie is rated "R" and for violence in some scenes it earned that rating! Keeps you on the edge of your chair! There are no dull moments. Wrings its audience out and hangs them to dry! Recommend this movie!

Fireproof
I thought this movie was well done--it delves into the problems married people have in relating to each other--and the way a relationship can begin to fail--all the misunderstandings and anger. The husband steps outside of how he would normally react to his wife's indifference and begins to treat her special, even though she does not return his romantic gestures. It has a Christian theme, which is appealing to me, as I would agree with these ideas. There is a feel of real emotion in this film. Actors are very convincing. This is a romantic film of the highest quality. And it ends well! Recommend!!
