a bargain -- surprisingly good sound
1 of 1 found this helpful I have always preferred 3-way speakers and my ancient Audio Empire speakers delivered a sound I greatly appreciated. They did not fit well in the new house, so I bought these much smaller speakers. They deliver good rich bass (Zarastro has a velvet texture), clear high notes (the Queen of the Night and Olympia are crisp and clean) and mid-range treble (the whole of the Bauernkantate) was truly precise. And the klavier was quite well-tempered. These speakers had the slightly less costly black finish; I think it better than the brown stained wood & aluminum case for our living room.

Makes dustbusters easier to clean
With the dramatic decline in the Dirt Devil (my original lasted decades; two replacements lasted months), I was compelled to use a bag-less handivac. The Dustbuster seemed to offer good performance as a reasonable price -- but cumping and filter cleaning, esp. in the aviary, was a problem. The prefilter separates the big chunky stuff from the dust proper. It is easier to dump the big chunky stuff, then clean or replace the filter. The only thing I don't understand is why B&D doesn't include this in the basic box, rather than selling it as an add-on.

Good device with correctible ergonomic issue
1 of 1 found this helpful I am a trackball fan; I thin they can provide the best general mouse service; most especially, I think a trackball, properly designed, is least likely to cause strain to the wrist and arm. We have a number of ITAC trackballs in service, they are built like the proverbial brick outhouse and they are very good for long sessions at the computer. But I recently had a couple that needed service (after a decade or so of active use...), and I needed a fill-in.
The Kensington Expert and Slimblade models were the best options I could find. I opted for the Expert, based on its included wrist rest. It is mechanically simple and appears robust. The scroll ring is convenient and works well — a selling point.
However, the hand position when using the unit is a problem. The angle of the unit means the wrist is flexed upward when twiddling the ball. This is a stressed position. The quick work around has been to use a foam "eraser" sponge on top of the wrist rest.
Pictures suggest the SlimBlade trackball may have the same problem, but more readily corrected.
