Not as good as advertised

I followed the directions for the proper setting to juice tomatoes. It somewhat juiced them but threw out quite a bit. I do mean threw. It sent pieces fast to the waste receptacle instead of juicing it. Also, the book said to gentle push the fruit down. No mater how lightly I pushed the extractor would quit spinning. As soon as I let up it would start spinning.
