Looks good, but didn't last.
It broke within two uses. The cutting wires are exposed on the outside of the blade and during just ordinary storage they broke from contact with other utensils in the drawer. The design should include either protection for the wires or they should terminate inside the blade.

Appliance lifts not just for appliances anymore.
Does what was designed to do and more. I have three installed in my small shop to lift and lower "bench top" power tools. The K&P lifts have freed up almost 18 square feet of bench top for projects. Only someone with a small shop can truly understand how valuable and versatile that is. They are sturdily built of thick steel with stout pinned joints with a gas cylinder to assist in lowering the tools safely, quickly, and quietly. In the first installation last year, I was at the rated capacity of 30lbs with no problems. The second install took place over the holidays and was well below the rated capacity, making full use of the gas cylinder in assisting the lift. The last install exceeded the rated capacity by about 25% (38lb compound miter saw) but with no problems whatsoever. The gas cylinder will probably be the first thing to fail, but since I only operate the lift/lower cycle probably twice a week, it should last a good, long while. Very please with the product.

New but appeared worn
It appeared to have been a used item even though it had a tag. The basket was weathered and had some splintering that looked like wear points. Nevertheless, after I gave it a coat of clear spray enamel, it looked fine.
