Immersive sounding headphone; one of the best monitor headphones for the $$$.
A top monitor headphone as advertised. Great tight bass with balanced sound maintained. Build quality is both solid and flexible. Strong wire connection that is not too long. The blue black special edition looks great. All that plastic takes getting used to- the headphone lasts and remains in one piece. The ear pads are not the best. Despite this, the isolation and passive noise cancelling is excellent.
Love the sound. It is great for pleasure listening, but it can also be used for stage and studio. Not a flat sounding headphone because of the bass impact, but highly detailed with a decent Soundstage. Immersive and addictive; in the same conversation with the flatter sounding AKG K371. In my headphone collection, it is top shelf. It's that good in comparison to strong alternatives.

Excellent sound dependent on earpiece seal.
Small earphones capable of great sound once a proper earpiece seal is established. I recommend the double flange ear tips that enhance the bass sound. Using the shirt clip on the upper thin split wire avoids microphonics. I have had no problems with sound interference.
The overall sound is rich and full. More air to the sound in comparison to the effective r6ii predecessor. Very detailed, emotional and dynamic sound. Build quality is great and it looks classy and expensive. Takes phone calls and skips tracks both forward and back. Upscales with an external dac/amp such as my Fiio btr5.
So, why not a 5 star review? 2 reasons- the sound is contingent on a proper ear piece seal and this is essential. The second reason is that there is justifiable and slight treble harshness. Slight, but present. It may be similar in effect to the excellent Grado headphones. It is also present in the impressive Superlux 668b over-ear headphones. Sometimes for the sake of extreme clarity in the treble some harshness occurs naturally. Very much an appropriate trade off.
IPX4 certified works in the rain. In sum, an excellent buy. Has qualities of both dynamic and armature earphones despite being solely dynamic.

Simply the best balanced headphone in this price range. Excellent is every way.
2 of 2 found this helpful The best headphone for the money. Extremely balanced and detailed with a great Soundstage. The bass is integrated and still powers the music. Ideal studio monitor. Everything is excellent on this headphone. If there is one criticism, it concerns the loose clamping force against the head in comparison to other monitor headphones. Isolation and passive noise cancelling do not suffer from the improved comfort. A light weight adds to the extreme comfort. Portable as well, with a solid build and flexibility. Good accessories provided.
Sound is phenomenal. This is true for any type of music. If I had to pick one headphone to demonstrate my musical tastes, this would be the one I give to people who understand sound and music.
