Old but Amazing. Sharp Clear and Cheap!!!
2 of 2 found this helpful To me it is a zoomable “Prime” lens. It is heavy but the later 28-70 2.8L or newer 24-70 2.8L are about the same heavy as well, So what!!!
28-80 2.8-4 comes with “Wire USM” which mean focusing ring needs “Electrical” and will only work when attached to powered camera. So what!!!!
Varying F2.8-4 doesn’t bother me as it is sharp from wide open.

Nice clear MC optic but thick frame
77 mm size Filter normally used by wide angle and those 2.8 tele lens even standard zoom lens. This exakta is good in every way as equavelant to most expensive filter but pls keep in mind that its frame’s thickness might cause vignett to the wide agle lens. Otherwise it is just as good.

Sharp Cheap Chippy!!!!
Why 5 star? It is sharp enough for decent picture. It shows no dreamy at wide open. And it is cheap on these day. Should be good enough for 5 star. No regret and worth every paid cent.
