Works fine for recommended pannier loads
Worked fine for me on a recent bikepack. Pay attention to the recommended pannier load limit if you're anticipating rough ground however because most of the (shear) load is on the slender front wheel axle clamp.
One mildly annoying feature is two cap nuts on both sides inside that dug into the back of my pannier bags. Two layers of duct tape on the bags at the contact points solved the wear problem for a while but larger diameter custom caps or a protective cover plate would be much better.
