The skillful telling of a long ago, forgotten disaster.

The historical background about New York City at the turn of the 20th century, was not only informative but imperative to put this disaster in perspective. The Author not only informs but slowly builds the tension till the climax and aftermath of the fire. This is not just a cold collection of facts but the author has skillfully painted the story with the numerous characters; victims, villians,& heros, who played a part in this forgotten event.
