Rockin' lap steel bar
Great for lap steel--ergonomic design, should last forever!

4-10s with digital modeling
Sounds good and loud, very much like the real thing. Power scaling and line out would be very useful in live gigs. I found it to be of reasonable weight but still bulky to load in & out of car. If it was 200 less would be a good value. If Fender would do a Vibrolux Reverb like this it would be just right IMO.

Entry-level lap steel good bang for the buck!
2 of 2 found this helpful For an entry-level lap steel, it's pretty good. I'd been "lap curious" for a while, playing slide on a regular guitar in open tunings, so when this was "Stupid Deal of the Day" I took a chance on it. Came with gig bag & legs all packaged neatly. Finish looks good, body is some kind of wood I guess. It sounds pretty sweet in a retro kinda way, has one anonymous single-coil pickup w/ plastic cover. Pots work fine, no crackles. Tuners are a bit sloppy, like an eighth turn of slack before the post turns, that would be the first upgrade I'd do. Fortunately it's inexpensive enough that a few upgraded pieces still puts it far below other steels in cost. Might have to get two or three & keep 'em in different tunings!
