No go.
Bought the ignition coil after making sure the serial number was correct. I installed it and had no success in getting my string trimmer to start. The coil seemed poorly assembled but I tried it out anyway. While removing this new coil, I had terrible difficulty getting the coil wire to disconnect from the spark plug, in fact the wire separated from the boot.
I reinstalled the original ignition coil and took the echo trimmer to a local repair shop. Turns out that it was a bad ignition coil and that it would be repaired for free as it was still under warranty. Shouldn't have wasted my time and money on the cheap stuff.
