    Great memories restored.
For those of us that let this series give Gino another chance to become a real Goji, this really is a must have considering the chance of getting the full series is pretty low. While not a continueing story as "Monster Wars" is, there are still three good episodes to watch Big Blue prove that he had the fighting spirit his father didn't and prove that he does belong alongside the other Gojies. It also shoes a Godzilla that can relate with humans, something that Junior never had the chance to show at the end of the Heisei era. More than a continuation from the remake of "Beast from 20,000 Fanthoms" that G-98 was, this pretty well stylelized animated series is a look at what could have been if the movie was made by people who cared more for the story and charaters (including Godzilla as one as the Japanese do) than the effects Buy them all, worth having in a kaiju collection and a good value to boot.

B&W collection for what should be a colorful reprint.
I have been a Kaijuphile for most of my life and of Godzilla in particular no matter the era. While not the best incarnation of the King of Monsters, the Marvel series was and early attempt to open up part of the American audience to him. I didn't collect the series back then but recently my interest in it was peeked. Getting all the separate issues (24) is possible but also time consuming and expensive. So at first glance this would seem to be a great answer to the dilemma, especially if your only interested in the story. But if you also want the art of the comics you will be in for what I felt was a nasty surprise - they cheeped out and did it in Black & White, and remembering the style of the time the lack of color does a serious disservice to the buyer. So as a concise collection of the story it's fine. But if you want to remember the Marvel series as it should be remembered IMO it is a failure.

Great Memories at a bargain price!
For those who grew up in the 60's &70s this collection is a great reminder of good times spent with an old friend with a stone face and silly outfit. Should you be younger and already interested in other Ultramen like Tiga or Mabius but want to see how it all started then this is the collection as well. The recordings are very faithful and have the same look as I remember from those days. You won't see the flashy bang wowie things that newer series may have nor the crisp picture but remember this was a mid-60s production by a studio with very few resources on hand - but they made the best of what they had and made a classic. This edition must have had a massive production run because every one I took a look at is in a very bargain price range. Get one for yourself and maybe consider getting an extra as a gift.
